Surfwise

I'd give this one an A-. Director Doug Pray did a good job of chronicling the history of the Paskowitz surfing family. It includes good interview material with patriarch Dorian Paskowitz and family. Although I don't agree with Dorian Paskowitz's philosophy, some of his ideas about health must be dead-on because I don't think there's one bad looking person among the nine offspring seen in the documentary. However, it would have been nice to have heard something about the two daughters he had with his second wife before meeting his third, Juliette, the mother of the nine. Dorian says they walked away from him after the death of wife no. 2. It would have been interesting to have something about them to contrast with the nine. That's a quibble though. Go see or rent it if you get a chance.

We got lucky and saw it in Cambridge, MA on vacation.
